Brisbane to host Iranian Film Festival

The Australian city of Brisbane is set to continue hosting the 7th edition of the Iranian Film Festival Australia.

Brisbane's New Farm Cinemas will continue to host the festival starting on November 2 by screening 10 movies selected from the best recent productions of the Iranian cinema industry.

The four-day festival includes the lineup of movies such as Subdued’ directed by Hamid Nematollah, ‘Blockage’ directed by Mohsen Qaraei, and ‘Yellow’ directed by Mostafa Taqizadeh.

‘Israfil’ directed by Ida Panahandeh, ‘Breath’ directed by Narges Abyar, ‘The Home’ directed by Asghar Yousefinejad, and ‘Walking on String’ directed by Ahmad-Reza Motamedi are also in the program.

The list goes on with ‘The Girl's House’ directed by Shahram Shah-Hosseini, ‘Leila’ directed by Daryoush Mehrjoui, as well as ‘Take Me Home’ by the late-great filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami.

The Iranian Film Festival Australia is an independent cultural establishment that was founded in the year 2010 in Australia.

The 7th edition of the festival is slated for October 26-November 19, 2017, to be held in six major Australian cities.
